UNGHENI DISTRICT COUNCIL, REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA

General information

Ungheni district council is a public authority of level II, representing the Ungheni district, with an area of 108,300 ha and a population of 110 thousand inhabitants, in 33 local authorities of level I (2 cities, Ungheni and Cornești, 19 communes and 12 villages). Ungheni district is located in the central - western part of the Republic of Moldova, near Prut River, which represents the border between Romania and the Republic of Moldova. The main activities of the institution are developed in domains like economy, environment, culture, health and social protection, communal and recreational, public services, etc.

The most important projects implemented by the institution are: developing cross border agricultural business support, creation of a public-private partnership in the production and delivery of alternative energy sources based on biomass, creation of an agricultural market in Sculeni village and a resting area in natural reservation "Plaiul Fagului", construction of an ecological information and educational Center in Radenii Vechi and rehabilitation of a transport infrastructure section Ungheni-Cetireni-Alexeevca.

Project activities and results

Activity T7.1 Endowing the tourist information center Ungheni

During this activity, Ungheni District Council will procure specific equipment to inform citizens about the places of tourist attraction in the Ungheni region and other regions. The Tourist Information Center will have the necessary equipment and information materials to inform the general public about the tourist attractiveness of the region and to provide support to those involved in the field.

Activity T8.1 Realizing a movie in order to reconstruct the medieval period and to promote the historical places

For this activity, a specialized firm will be contracted in order to develop a documentary film promoting the historical and cultural places in the Ungheni district. The film will be printed on CDs and will be distributed to the concerned institutions. Experts and consultants in the history, ethnography and culture domains will participate to the creation process for this film.

Activity T8.2 Printing CDs with the movie

500 copies will be printed by the company accepted for film production. The printed CDs will be distributed both within the project activities and to the interested beneficiaries - educational institutions, cultural institutions, museums, etc.

Activity T9.1 Making an atlas - digital album, promoting the project partner towns, historical and cultural events and historical sites.

The project team of Ungheni District Council will collect relevant photos from all partners and will contract a company that will develop a digital album promoting the project partner towns, historical and cultural events and historical sites. The album will be broadcast both at the events in Ungheni district and at the joint event in Turkey.

The company selected for writing the digital album will print the content on CDs. The CDs will have an informational and promotional purpose and will be distributed to all project partners for dissemination.

Activity A.T10.1 Training seminar for local guides in target localities for local services guide.

For this project activity, 1 seminar will be organized for 3 days. With the services of an expert in the touristic field, the participants will receive information regarding the locations with historical medieval importance in Ungheni district. A group of 20 future tourist guides will acquire the skills and knowledge to provide guidance services. These beneficiaries will disseminate information about the project's activities and products to the interested public.

Communication activities

Activity C.1 Communication start-up activities.

After signing the subsidy contract, the institution will issue a press release announcing the project, the general objective and the specific objectives, the activities and the results of the project.

Activity C.5 Public events - The "Beech Festival".

The "Beech Festival" will be organized in May 2020.This will be a major activity in which the project's products will be presented. In order to ensure the smooth running of the event, services will be purchased for the installation of a stage, banks and exhibition stands. The district council, through its subdivisions, will organize the organization of the event. The purchased equipment will continue to be used for the annual festival and other tangible activities.

At the end of the project, a press release will be issued in order to announce the dissemination of results and achievement of the objectives of the project.
